Peatree Bojangles
Looking at Peatree Bojangle's art feels like stepping into some beautiful, dark dream. Her work is surreal and echoes that of a graphic novel. I discovered the fantastic Peatree when a wonderful friend of mine commissioned a piece of art by her (It was of Vincent Price *faints*) and thus linked me to her sight. Since that moment, I have been hooked.
She is one of the most original artists I have seen in a long time and uses the wonders of technology to really bring her work to life. Not only is she talented beyond belief, but she is also utterly charming and hilarious. (See her Youtube video HERE) What more could you want from an artist?
Peatree Bojangles did me the honour of answering a few questions about her work for your reading pleasure. Enjoy:

What is electronic art & what made you want to do it?
There wasn't anything that made me specifically get into my style of art, it was a progression over the years. From a young age I started off sketching comic book characters, and as I started to form a stronger ability, as I got older, I moved onto life drawing the human form.
I needed a stronger look than just pencil or charcoal sketches but I found it difficult to use paints - I need the ability to be flexible with the image so decided to transfer them onto my laptop to then mess around with them as much as I wanted without any restrictions.
What inspires you to create your pictures?
I grew up on comic books and sci fi films, so my creativity was overflowing from a young age.

What is your favourite piece that you have created?
I don't have a favourite, but I did like how 'Creep' turned out as I woke up with that image in my mind and then had to create it. Possibly something residual from a dream or nightmare I instantly forgot, but that image remained.
Are you inspired by any artists in particular?
There are a few people, mostly illustrators I've stumbled onto on the internet, who I am a huge fan of. Currently admiring the work of Grace Ollier and Stan Chow.
Two of my biggest inspirations would be Dave McKean and Neil Gaiman.
