Ian Adamson
*Disclaimer*: The fact that Mr. Adamson happens to be my other half does not mean I am biased. (Okay, perhaps I am a little biased) It's worth noting that I fell in love with his music before I fell in love with him. It is a Valentine's issue after all.
Currently based in Nelson, Lancashire, and originally from Devon, Ian Adamson is a 28 year old singer/songwriter who captured my heart with his beautiful and sometimes melancholic music. In October 2011, I stumbled across Ian's Soundcloud page where I discovered a song called 'Falmouth', which Ian wrote whilst visiting the picturesque town in Cornwall.
"Is it wrong to spend a lifetime looking for the missing piece? Oh my dear, will you take me to the beach?"

There is no pretentiousness surrounding Ian Adamson. His lyrics are honest and his music is different to the more mainstream folk you find these days. Despite the fact he's been writing for years, with an extensive backlog of tunes under his belt, he is refreshing...and a sixteen months on from when I first heard his music, he just keeps on getting better.
When talking about Ian's music however, you can't neglect his most popular songs. Not only is he capable of writing heartbreakingly exquisite, folk songs, but he is the master of toe-tapping music you can dance along to. So much so that every time I have seen him play, almost everyone has been able to sing along. Songs such as Passio have gained him much popularity where he resides (I say this because he will soon be gracing my fair city of Liverpool with his wonderful music) with their simple and easy-to-sing-along-to lyrics, matched with a ridiculously catchy tune; "Let's cause a scandal.Let's kiss in clubs where we're both known. Let's cause a scandal. Let's go"

In short - I am one lucky woman. So lucky in fact, he covered 'Michelle' by The Beatles for me as a birthday present last year. (*is showing off*)
