Elise Cochin photography
Elise Cochin's photography screams 'French Sophistication' & her pictures are filled with the beautiful & simple things in life. From the first time I saw her photographs, I fell in love.
"I really love Elliott Erwitt, Lee Jeffries and his homeless portraits but I don't really know a lot of photographers. I love to take pics of my grandparents and instant pictures, I don't like artifice but just the beauty of simple moment which are originals by themselves. I really loved taking pictures in Liverpool and I regret that I did not take more pics (that's why I'm coming back really soon). I love gross and pure faces and places."
Sometimes, I wonder if the reason I love her work so much is that she's like a young, female Robert Doisneau (my favourite photographer) who also took pictures of day to day life. I think many photographers these days have lost that ability to find beauty in the simplest of places & the places we often overlook. Elise has brought that back. She is finding the beauty in a world were people are too busy to look for simple pleasures. The overlooked homeless woman with a face that holds a thousand secrets, the children sitting chatting reminding us that we were once innocent, the fruit shop that could have a story...whatever it is, Elise Cochin draws out the sublimity and lays it before us. We see through her eyes.
(I can't get enough of her photos)
With her sparkling personality & modest outlook, I don't think the beautiful Mademoiselle Cochin knows just how good a photographer she really is.

Elise, 23 years old, grew up near Paris.
Born in Brittany, Elise has stayed attached to her roots, always visiting family several times a year.
Brittany's genuine atmosphere influenced a real sense for an honest aesthetic. She does not look for the perfect image but instead strives to capture a sincere moment.
Exploring in her parents' garage one day, she found a dusty bag and she discovered her father's old trusty partner: a Canon AE-1. "Why not?" she thought, and from that day she embarked on an experiment with her clumsy hands and the old contraption.
A 9 month journey through Liverpool and the UK impregnated in Elise the definitive British experience with its unique ambiance and eccentricity which she loves.
The Breton girl felt at home in Great Britain
